Clarity grading is the determination of the flaws or
inclusions of a diamond.
The
clarity of diamonds are rated on a scale which ranges
from flawless to imperfect.
Fl - Flawless
IF - Internally Flawless (minor surface blemishes)
VVS1, VVS2 - Very, Very Slight inclusions
VS1, VS2 - Very Slight inclusions
SI1, SI2, SI3 - Slight inclusions
I1, I2, I3 - Imperfect (eye visible inclusions)
Clarity grading must be determined with a 10x
magnifying loupe. Proper clarity and color grading is
crucial in determining the price you should pay for
your diamond. |
